What is vehicle detailing?

Detailing is the performance of an extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an automobile, both inside and out. Besides improving the appearance of cars, detailing helps to preserve the car, and thus, increases resale value.

 

Why should I have my vehicle detailed?

Dirt and other pollutants, on your vehicle’s exterior and interior surfaces, along with lack of conditioners and protectants, are the primary causes of deterioration in a vehicle’s appearance.

Washing removes the loose pollutants, whereas detailing is a deep cleaning, rejuvenation, conditioning, and protection of all the surfaces. The defects that have penetrated surfaces are removed, such as oxidation, swirl marks, scratches and more. The interior is cleaned and protected by conditioning the leather and vinyl to prevent cracking. Cloth interiors are cleaned and protected from food/beverage spillage, etc. Interior odours are eliminated.

 

What is a Cut and Polish?

A cut and polish is performed to remove common paint defects such as scratches, bird stains, swirl marks and micro scratches. This is carried out by polishing the paint surface with products containing micro abrasives. These remove a very fine layer of paint to bring the paint surrounding these blemishes down to the same level, thus eliminating scratches etc.

 

What are swirl marks?

Swirls are those fine circular lines that show up in bright sunlight and go a long way towards preventing your car from looking “right”. They are best thought of as microscopic scratches and are usually the result of poor detailing practices

 

Can swirl marks be removed? How does it work?

In most cases, these defects can be completely removed, or at least improved. This involves using abrasive polishes or compounds by machine to “re-level” the paintwork. This step is known as paint correction. Depending on the level of severity of the swirling, 1-4 polishing steps could be required. For example, the average vehicle would likely need at least 2 polishing steps—the first being a more aggressive polish to remove most defects and a final polish to further increase the level of gloss and clarity.

 

I own a brand new car and it’s perfect. Why would I need it detailed?

Car dealerships rarely wax new cars, and we’ve never heard of one that specially treats and protects leather interior.

Performing both of these procedures is important therefore, detailing is vital, if you wish to maintain it’s new look.

 

I lease my vehicle. Why should I care about its appearance?

If you are leasing your vehicle, you are responsible for how well you have maintained it. Not taking care of its appearance can result in charges at the end of your lease. Also the better your car’s appearance and condition, the better trade value you will get on your car.

 

What if it rains or is to hot on my appointment day?

If the vehicle is not undercover from rain, we can reschedule for you.

If the Temperature is over 30 degrees we may need to rebook your detail depending on the service booked.

 

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We are usually booked at least a few days in advance. Depending on the area, It is best to book your detail ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Once we receive a address for the booking in order to lock your appointment in, the client will receive a booking code to confirm the booking until this happens the booking is not locked in.

 

If the Detail is not described correctly by a customer?

The detailer arrives at the appointment time and the vehicle/service booked was not described correctly at the time of booking, very rare but this does happen. Eg: Sand, dog hair or the general condition of the vehicle requires more time spent on the detail.

If the detail will not enhanced a vehicles condtion or requires extra time that has not been allowed for at the time of the booking. the detailer may need to cancel or rebook due to time restraints in order for other bookings on the day.

How do you charge for your services?

What are your payment term's?

Our payments terms are payment on completion by cash, visa or mastercard.

You can pay cash on completion of the job or via eftpos, Visa and Mastercard. Sorry but we don't accept cheques & electronic fund transfers (EFT) unless it's from a corporate account or unless agreed prior to commencement of job undertaken.

Credit card payments are made by the client on our online payment page at

Bank transfer with receipt given to detailer.

We are very serious about Customer Satisfaction.

Before taking payment, we require the owner of the vehicle (or the person responsible for making payment upon completion), to thoroughly check the vehicle with the detailer, and to sign the completion of service form, to ensure that everything has been completed to meet the customer's expecations.

Please note that we are unable to guarantee you a new vehicle, however we will always endeavour to detail and perform the service required to the best of our abilities.
